Born and raised in Geneva, Switzerland in 1985, Maryam Gueramian lived inTehran, Iran before moving to the United States at the age of 14. Herpassion for art and fashion emerged at the age of three. Afterobtaining her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Economicsfrom the University of California, San Diego, Maryam decided to expandon her painting hobby, which resulted in 2 solo exhibitions, one inTehran, one in Los Angeles and many group shows.

Sheobtained her MBA from California State University, Northridge in May2011. During her MBA career, she entered the world of fashion, starting a t-shirt and accessories line, “Confiance by Maryam Gueramian.” Her shirts are carried by several boutiques and worn by celebrities.

Confiance, is French for confidence and trust. Maryam believes if youthink “Confiance,” you feel confident and you project confidence. Thedesigns are inspired by her paintings, internationally known symbols, poetic quotes (Rumi) and other meaningful and inspirational sayings (some written in multiple languages).

Maryam launched her line at the 4thAnnual UCLA Fashion Show Benefiting PACI (Persian American CancerInstitute) on April 3, 2010. In January of 2011, she was one of thesponsors for the HBO Luxury Lounge® in Honor of the 68th Golden Globe® Awards.

Her most recent jewelry collection consists of trendy and yet unique bracelets made with fine semi-precious stones. 

Maryam hopes that one day, cultural and religious beliefs will bring people closer to each other rather than separating them.
